Social Media and Education: A Dangerous Mix?

Social media has become a ubiquitous part of our lives, and nowhere is this more evident than in the world of education. Nearly every student in middle and high school has access to a smartphone, and many use these devices to connect with friends, share information, and stay up-to-date on current events.

However, there is a dark side to social media that many students are not aware of. Text messages and social media posts can be used to bully, harass, and spread rumors. In some cases, these actions can have serious consequences, such as expulsion or suspension from school.
