Shannon Curry is a dedicated special education advocate with 15+ years in the field of K-12 special education. Having served in various capacities across the spectrum of education, facilitating hundreds of Individual Education Plan meetings and teaching hundreds of students over the years, she is a beacon in the world of education. She prides herself on remaining a lifelong educator and learner.
Upon receiving her B.A. from Spelman College, Shannon went on to begin her career as a Varied Exceptionalities teacher. Moving quickly through the various capacities of special education, she became a resource teacher, an ESE Services Coach, and then an ESE Specialist. In between these progressions, Shannon has taught Extended School Year and served as a personal tutor for students with high levels of need. She has worked extensively across two Florida districts to provide top tier special education services.
Shannon bases her work in her love for learning and for young people. She intricately weaves passion, relentless effort, and solution-oriented leadership into her projects. Shannon serves as an anchor of inclusivity and success for students and families
